8s promoted after final day victories

Sunday 10 May 2009: The magnificent 8th XI finally achieved the promotion that their season deserved with a double victory over Winchmore Hill 10th on Saturday. Goals from McGowan (2), Harry Haritakis and Jack Ephgrave eased the Vamps to a 4-0 first game win before Joe Ephgrave and McGowan (again) helped the Vs come from behind to win a 2-1 final game 2-1.

3s hearts broken by Old West Citz

Sunday 19 April 2009: The 3rd XI's title chase was squashed in Mitcham on Saturday when Old Westminster Citizens beat them 3-2 to take pole position in the championship race. The win leaves OWC needing 1 point from their final fixture against HSBC to overtake the Vampires and win the Division. The positive, however is that results elsewhere ensured that both teams are promoted so the 3s return to Division 1 after a five year gap.

1s miss-out after EBOG stalemate

Sunday 19 April 2009: A goalless draw at home to EBOG effectively ended the 1st team's push for promotion yesterday. Defeats for Civil Service and BB Eagles were ultimately in vain as the side now need to win their final game at Norsemen by at least 18 goals to overtake Civil on goal difference. Nevermind lads - it was a great season and after a year of adjustment we will be back stronger and better next season!

8s share points in promotion clash

Sunday 19 April 2009: The 8th XI suffered only their second league defeat of a long season yesterday in a double header against Old Parkonians 7th. The return game was won 2-1 to leave the table much as it was at the start of the day. The results leave Parkonians in the driving seat for the final promotion spot but the 8th XI still have three games left to turn things around.
